First win on the road for our team against BK Amager. We started the game nervous and erratic on offense even though we managed to force multiple turnovers. – We couldn’t convert them into easy baskets in fastbreak. Only Zidane seemed to be shooting well, and he kept us in the game with 8 points in the first quarter that finished 20-13 for Amager.
During the first five minutes of the second quarter, we became the team we’d practiced to become. We kept Amager seven points while we scored 19, turning the result to 34-40 at halftime. Magnus and Peter were the main guys in this quarter, scoring 6 and 9 points.
During the second half, we started to have a setback. Our defense wasn’t solid, and our offense was erratic and unorganized. We committed too many fouls, sending Amager to the free throw line quite often, but we still managed to keep leading the game until the end, having between 11 and 4 points of advantage most of the time.
We still made too many mistakes that allowed the opponents to get close, and have a chance to win the game in the last possession, which ended up with a turnover for them.
It wasn’t a nice game, but we still got the win on the road, and we had some minutes where we clearly played like the team we wanted to be.
Magnus played an excellent game, ending with 22 points and 8 rebounds. Peter was again key with a double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds. And Pablo made a great defensive game with 5 steals.
Thanks to the fans who came to support us and I hope to see a lot of you in our next home game against BC Copenhagen, next Sunday, 15th of October at 16:00 in Holbæk Sportby.
